A line of thunderstorms moved NNE up the North Coast during the evening of 15th November 2005. Very unusual shelf cloud structures developed as the storms passed by Ballina just before a very strong southerly wind change. It was difficult to photograph due to a full moon and fast moving clouds, and it was not particularly lightning active either. Storm chase report here
After a very long storm chase day in parts of the North West Plains district on 26th November 2005,
high based thunderstorms developed near Collarenabri during the late afternoon.
Although initially unimpressive, one storm turned into one of the most CG active
events I've ever witnessed. The lightning was so frequent and pulsing that it
was possible to get numerous daytime bolts by pressing the shutter after the lightning
hit. Later in the evening distant lightning was observed from near Moree. Storm chase report here
A storm chase through parts of Brisbane during a severe thunderstorm outbreak.
These photos of daytime lightning were captured near Ipswich ahead of torrential
rain, strong winds and some hail.
