The whole of 2009 had been poor for storms and lightning opportunities and it took until mid November before something decent occurred. These sunset shots of high based storm cells were taken south of Kyogle on 17th November. Other storm chase photos here.
The next day I was able to storm chase in the Darling Downs region of Southeast Queensland. There was some powerful early development then a big lull in activity until early evening when an isolated small storm produced an amazing lightning show near Clifton. Other storm chase photos here.
