A great storm chase was had on 28th November 2009. A supercell with large hail at Grafton was topped off by a number of lightning opportunities into the evening. The first few photos were taken at Grafton, then others at Coraki and then at Evans Head. We should have gone there earlier but light rain was an issue. Other storm chase photos here.
The Spring 2009 storm season was well below average so I had to go after all lightning opportunities. This was an extremely weak storm moving through the Whiporie to Maclean region. Fortunately it gave off a few nice bolts in the dusk light. It was too risky to drive any closer on this day but that certainly would have been rewarded with better shots.
