Weak storms occurred in the region during the afternoon of 5th December 2016 and I ventured to Whiporie where the first few shots were taken. After sunset the skies exploded with lightning and this persisted well into the next morning. The first few large bolts were captured at Tatham then the rest from my home at McLeans Ridges looking towards the Nightcap and Border Ranges.
This day was the third of five extraordinary lightning displays in the first week of Summer: (2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 8th December).
